Our courses:
Creative Design 1 (9090) Creative Design 2 (9091) Creative Design 3 (9092)
We explore the most advanced digital applications used in the industry. Students develop in-depth computer literacy, along with the personal and professional skills required to succeed as visual artists in a highly competitive, creative field.
In 2D design, we ground you in the elements of design and study what makes good (and poor design. We examine advertising, typography, digital production, photography, graphic design and a conceptual approach toward problem solving. We broaden your visual literacy and sharpen your voice. Advertising today is a vital, thriving industry, and it’s a different animal than in decades past. We recognize the potential of advertising to advance a social agenda and to move beyond its traditional platforms.
Once students have a stronger sense of design aesthetics, we dive into the world of 3D design and animation. We see the work of computer graphics and visual effects in television, the Internet, in video games and feature films. Working with 3D applications, these artists learn to do more than entertain us: they might also visualize complex medical procedures, perform scientific simulations and assist in forensic investigations.
It is our goal to ensure that The Digital Creative students have the creative and technical skills to work in this fast growing industry. The Digital Creative graduates are highly skilled artists who are adaptable and capable of solving the most complex visual challenges. Our students have the ability to anticipate and adapt to advances in applied technologies. Upon completion of the three levels, students leave with Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) certification. These topics, through the continually updating curriculum at Old Bridge High School, is groundbreaking at the high school level.
The technical complexity of 3D computer animation and visual effects requires a structured curriculum and there are an extensive number of skills to master. This is a unique curriculum that focuses on the integration of 2D and 3D computer graphics within computer animation, visual effects and motion graphics. We offer comprehensive instruction in 3D computer animation with advanced classes in 3D modeling, lighting, texturing, dynamics, character animation and motion capture. The courses offered in visual effects feature advanced instruction in digital video, greenscreen studio production, compositing, rotoscoping and VFX animation.
